Anyone got a used canoe or kayak for sale? That's about all we'll be able to do from our house by this weekend I'm afraid.

The low levels, before long will have us all meeting in the middle, or should I say the puddlle. I've been wanting to meet some of you folks but didn't want it to be like this. Like fish in a dried up reservoir

Any of you guys that have been on the lake for years, can you put into laymans terms what the proposal from Alabama Power means?

the way I see it is they are going to adjust how much water they let out but also means they will reduce what they let in from Weiss.

http://www.alabamapower.com/lakes/pdfs/public_notice.pdf

copy and paste to read. pretty soon we will be able to walk to the middle to meet each other.

They are asking the government to decrease the minimum flow that is currently allowed. This minimum is in place to protect the lower Alabama waterways, and the deltas. They can only hydro-generate electricity at a couple of reservoirs, Logan-Martin being one of them. They want to open up Weiss, & Henry-Neely in order to elevate Logan-Martin. This additional elevation would allow them to still produce electricity by opening up our spillway. To sum it all up, this is not a fix for the public, but a fix for the power company... we will still lose all of the additional water because of them using it to generate juice.
