Yes the water level is low and yes you can only travel the main parts of the lake but I have to ask...........Has the present level of the lake stopped you from enjoying the water and most of the things you would be doing on the lake this time of year?

Personally I have only been on the lake since late August or Early September of last year and the present level is where it was when we bought the house we have. Several weeks back when the lake was "full pool" it was beautiful and made the area I was in almost look flooded because I had never seen it at full pool. Now it is back to the way I originally started coming to the lake and seeing.

I know levels are continuing to drop and only a hurricane or two will reverse the process we are seeing but what we have could always be worse and the lake could be inaccesible from anywhere and restricted from use because of the low levels and dangers.

just to see how many people actually read these things post if you are using freely, limited use or high and dry.....................I hope there are more than 4 responses.

I was there this weekend. I don't actually live on the lake, but I have a house there we use on weekends. We can't get either of our boats to our pier. In fact, we have so little water in our slough, my kids can't even launch their pedal boat. I now have to put them in dry storage & have the marina launch them when we want to go out. It is an expensive hassle, but we do get to use the lake. I won't complain too much because it could be WORSE.

I have still been enjoying the lake but, having been on the lake for 20+ years, I feel comfortable that I know where the low spots are. oops now I'll hit bottom for sure. Steve I saw a boat like yours skiing a kid yesterday afternoon, If it was yall, looked like you were having a good time, despite the low levels.

It probably was me, the kids wanted to get the wakeboards out and we did and had a great time. Boarded until the sun went down.

Right now I probably have about 4 ft of water off the end of my pier and with me being almost at the end of the slough then it is draining away from me. But even if I have no water by July I don't think I will stop doing anything that we are doing now. We will just have to set forth the emergency docking plans........

1) Turn engine off 50ft from pier
2) Push automatic parking system into water (kids)
3) Let automatic parking system guide boat to pier
4) Put extendable ladder off of pier to help assist my lazy but out of the boat.

When that plan becomes unusable then we will try and use our neighbors pier, my neighbor that is further in the slough is using mine now because it is too shallow off of his pier. Eventually someone on Point Aquarius will look like they own a bunch of toys or is having a big lake party.

Take care guys, we will still be coming out on the weekends.

It has definitely curtailed our activities. I have had to move the pontoon down 2 docks just to keep it floating in about 2 ft of water. Thankfully we have nice neighbors and they don't mind. It is dry in front of my dock. I can not launch my ski boat without trailering it down to a launch and paying to drop it in, play around for a while, load it back up and go to the house. I haven't gone this route yet because it's quite a hassle with 4 kids, so the ski boat is trailered and out of the water looking lonely.

Because it's so low in our slough it has changed my kids swimming habits and made it more difficult to enjoy it as they usually do. It's still better than nothing and I enjoy being up there in the winter too so it's a nice relief from the week and b'ham either way. I am only bummed in that it has hampered the kids progression to skiing or wakeboarding this summer.

Just out of Curiosity, where is everyone on the lake?

We are down in the slough behind Point Aquraius, on the dam side of Waters Edge. Only there on the weekends unless entertaining for business.

We are at Rabbit Branch - I've had to put my boats at River's Edge Marina so we can use them. We're just about as far back in the slough as you can go. That's why the water level affects us as bad as it does. I'll be there this weekend - maybe I'll catch some of you then. Be safe.

River's Edge is the old Rabbit Branch Marina. New owners bought it in December, & they are really fixing it up. They have done a lot of work & also opened up a restaurant - A.J.'s Cafe.

We had heard someone was opening a Bar/ resturant on the water somewhere.

Does anyone know when they will open?

That may be a good time for everyone to meet????

Closed Monday & Tuesday... open the rest of the week. I think they only serve brakfast on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. No alcohol served though - strictly an eatery.

Then that is not the place that we heard about.

Two bartenders said that they had bought a place on the lake to fix up and have a resturant/bar and we are trying to figure out where.
