We went up there a few weeks back and it is very impressive. The boardwalk along the shore is very nice. from what I understand because of the restrictions on the Sq Ft of a pier they designed it that way so Boats could park end to end.

The water access seems much nicer than Lincoln Harbor also.

Where is this exactly? I'm at Stemley bridge and have not seen this development yet. I don't like the looks of the other one just down from stemley bridge by the cliffs. That whole corner there is a great place to anchor, swim, watch people jump from the cliffs, etc... Putting a whole marina there to accomodate all of those condos is really going to mess that up.

Yes we heard the Horizon development was local and the Lincoln Harbor was from Georgia.

Lincoln Harbor is a company from Georgia. This is the company many folks suspect were behind the big boat legislation this past year that attempted to ban houseboats.

Hi everybody! Well they didn't have any luck banning the house boats. A "new" 70 footer arrived via flatbed this weekend on Coosa Island. Moored at Lighthouse Landing. A really nice one too. Also, I was glad to see that the water didn't drop over the last few days. Does any one know any info on the fatality on Goat Island last week. A friend read something in the Bham paper? Seem someone ran a ground in the dark and their passanger was ejected off the boat into the Island.

Did this accident happen last week? Didnt hear about. if I remember correctly a bass boat ran aground at Goat Island last year at night killing the passenger.

I don't know. It could have been an article remembering that accident to get peoples attention. I did not read it, that is why I was asking.

Last year around September a big speed boat (32') ran into goat island at night and killed the passenger.

I thought that had been the only fatality on Logan Martin in some time???

How do you get there by ground? I haven't seen any signs around the civic center advertising. I don't ever go that far up in there via boat so had not seen it on the water yet.

I think this must be from last year. I have a good friend that lives in one of the homes around goat island and he didn't mention it this weekend.

If you are coming across Stemley Bridge towards Pellcity there is a sign on the left advertising Horizons just after the turn for Pine Harbor and just before the Civic Center.

Now that I think about it there may not be a sign yet and we just turned there between Pine Harbor and Civic Center. A friend of mine lives up that way and we went and looked at Lincoln Harbor and Horizons same day. not sure about the sign tho.
