I just spoke with a friend whose father works at Alabama Power... he stated that the Mitchell dam is requiring new seals and that they are planning to raise our water to full pool for @ 6 weeks.. Wasn't sure when it was going to happen, but assured me that it was on the way... I'm going to try and verify through Ala Power... hope this is true... anyone else heard this?

Have heard only the opposite.

Wouldn't that be great, it would get us through the summer, I hope they do not just let it flow through.

Keep us informed on what you find.

Will do... it would be great... having 6 weeks at full pool... knowing Alabama power, they will wait until the fall or when its too cold to play on the water to fix the seals...

I'll keep my fingers crossed though..

Hey you guys try and come out over the next few weeks to Pier 59 so we can all complain together about APCO.

I believe the next 2 Saturdays people on this board are going to get together for a drink and/or lunch.

That sounds like fun... Our place is around Riverside... Not sure where pier 59 is at... (sorry...:( ) Also, heard there was going to be a beer on the pier party/get together at Powell's Hideaway on the 20th... someone told me that it was near stemley bridge, but I'm not sure... could someone tell me where that is at also?

Thanks... look forward to meeting you guys...

Head towards the Dam and once you can see the Dam in the distance just past Clear Creek you will follow the path on either side of the Red House and Barn on an island with no road. follow the land around to the left and Pier 59 is behind the House Boats.

Give us some more info on the beer on the Pier or any party/ get totgether you hear of.

is this the old islander that burned down a couple of years ago? If so, I'm sure I know where it is at... my wife and I are planning on going on the 14th... hope to see you there..

This sounds like my example from the other day;

"My cousin's, son's, neighbor's, nephew that works in the control center in downtown B'ham said" blah, blah, blah.

Rumor last weekend from someone who knows someone at APCO was they were dropping the lake 3 feet last weekend.

I just keep showing up and where it is, it is. If we can use the 'toon, great. If not, we enjoy the peace and quiet, covered porch with fans blowing, and some cold drinks. Tough to complain when this is the alternative. :-)

It is not the one that burned down but just around the corner and someone else can correct me if I am wrong but it is before the one that burned down.

We will not make it on the 14th but be there the next week, we have to play dress up and eat wedding cake (wahoo).

We are not going anywhere soon and can run into f\any of you guys anywhere on the lake. We try to be there just about every weekend.
