I must be real dumb but I still do not understand why Lay lake is a "Run of the River" lake. What does that mean and I really fell bad that APCO might have to lower Lay between 395 and full pool of 396 while we will be down nearly 9 feet.

HOW LAKES GET MADE ROR AND HOLDING RESEVOIRS IS BEYOND ME..THESE DEPEND ON HYDROLOGY AND HOW THEY GENERATE POWER..EVERY BODY OF WATER CAN'T BE ROR, THE FLOW HAS TO BE SLOWED DOWN AND THAT'S WHAT HOLDING RESEVOIRS LIKE LOGAN MARTIN AND MARTIN ARE FOR..ALSO MANY OTHER THINGS ARE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION..I HAVE A GREAT WEBSITE THAT EXPLAINS ALL OF THIS, I'LL TRY TO FIND IT AND POST A LINK...I KNOW YOU GUYS ON LM ARE FRUSTRATED, BUT THERE'S PLENTY OF APCO WATER ON THE LOWER COOSA, PUT THE BOAT ON A TRAILER AND HEAD THAT WAY...

Big Worm, I'll be taking your advice soon... there's still time for fun to be had on the water, and just about all ramps on LM will become useless when it's lowered 2 more feet. It's just a hassle to hitch up the boat & haul it around (I guess I'm spoiled by the marina). Lay lake is a very nice lake - I've been on it several times. You just have to be really cautious due to all of the stumps & treetops just under water. Probably be in your neck of the woods in a couple of weekends - I'll try to catch up with you.
