Not very accurate, but I came up with 44 degrees. I just dropped a therm. in on a string. Was showing 37 air temp so it could be close.

But no matter what, like Steve said #*%^*#@ COLD!

Peace,
<><

I am ready to get the boat out and get a pull on a bright sunny day...........

I spent the night last week and water is deep enough to get to my pier but 44 degrees.........BRRRRRRR........ thats cold enough for parts of the body to disassociate themselves from me. Besides I cant do it alone,,,,,,,,,there has to be another fool out there thats wants to take a dip, RIGHT?

Oh well maybe next month...........

usually if I see someone fishing close I'll ask but they have been scarce lately.
most depth/fishfinders have temp on them so if you see someone fishing just ask

Welcome, what part of the lake are you on?

I went skiing on January 6th. It wasn't bad at all. If the air temp is over 60 I'll go if I can find a driver. That's my biggest problem though - finding a driver. My kids won't do it. They're such wusses.

Anyway, the water temp isn't a big factor to me. I don't spend much time in the water. The air temp and wind are the two biggest factors.

Melissa, your my hero.......

Do you wear a shorty suit or anything or are you tuffer than all of us put together?

In a few weeks if you are still looking for a driver, I might volunteer if you wouldnt mind giving me a pull on the wakeboard.

Dangit I sure do miss Summer. From April till October I make my schedule around being at the lake, now I am going to have to get to the lake around my schedule,,,,,,,,waaaawaaaaa

Now I am at work useless, staring out the window wishing I was on the lake............

My children will tell you that it's not a measure of how tough I am....it's a measure of my stupidity. I have a full and a short suit. It's long suit weather. Don't use the short one much. You either need one - or you don't.

I'm not saying I don't get cold. I skied 3 times on the 6th and by the 3rd time my muscles were getting pretty tight just from the cold. Being cold makes you more prone to injury, too. I ruptured a disc in my back skiing a few years ago. It was late October. I had to have surgery. I was skiing again in the spring (much to my surgeons chagrin). Then, did it AGAIN the following November. Didn't have surgery that time but I couldn't walk for almost 6 weeks. That sucked but it didn't stop me. Now you see why my kids would say it's more a measure of the level of my stupidity.

FYI I have short suits in various sizes mainly for kids when we go tubing in fall or early spring. But since my son is 19 I have large sizes. Sam’s marks them WAY down in the summer. I got some of them for about $15.00. Anyway, I'm HAPPY to be a driver. Can't say I've had much practice lately pulling a wakeboarder but I'm quick on the uptake.

Well I turned 40 this past Oct and I am trying very hard to act 25 every day.

Like last year, even in March it was chilly and I got out in the chilly water and those muscles do tighten up quickly when the water is cold.

Pulling a Wakeboard is MUCH different than skiing. You could pull me up doing 5-10 MPH and then top out about 20-22ish. very slow pulling sport.

While I am an amatuer doing this my kids and wife fully expect me to break, tear or dislocate something.

Maybe we can work something out in a few weeks.....

I'm 51 so you're a spring chicken. I've pulled wakeboarders and knee boarders and trick skiers..all pretty slow stuff. Just haven't done it in over a year. My boat is a slalom boat. Not much fun for a wakeboarder - not enough wake.

I've been skiing and driving a boat since I was 10 or 12 so I've pulled people on all sorts of things behind a boat. It's amazing the things you'll do when you're bored.

What kind of boat are you pulling with? I was able to find a good deal on an '83 Nautique last summer and can't wait to get it fully up and running this year for some good pulling.

I have a '96 Malibu Tantrum. I bought it used in 1999 and it's the best investment I've ever made. ZERO problems in all the time I've owned it. Well, aside from the usual little tweaky things that come up. Nothing major. It ALWAYS cranks. Waterski Mag reviewed it (I'm not sure when - it's says '99 but I thought they only made it from 95 to 97).

Waterski Mag review:
Malibu introduced the Tantrum a couple years back as a nuts-and-bolts inboard for cost-conscious buyers. Then, at its first boat test a year ago, the Tantrum smashed several performance records. Our barefoot team was particularly impressed with the pop and power with the Monsoon 320 engine. The driving and skiing were so much fun that nobody really missed a teak platform or standard passenger bench. Buyers won't complain about pedestal-style passenger seats when the Tantrum blisters past the neighbor's boat - or when it's time to make the next payment. The Tantrum is half the price of upscale inboards.

They are still listed used for more than I paid for mine in '99. Here's a link to one for sale:
http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/1/7/90528317.htm?BAC-Oodle&WT.mc_id=Oodle

Mine's in need of some cosmetic TLC but when I have the $$ I don't have the time.

Can you tell I LOVE my boat?
m.
