I purchased a 2002 yamaha 115hp four stroke to replace a 60hp merc on a pontoon boat. did not get any controls. i have the merc controls on the boat and a set of suzuki controls.
does anyone know if either of these controls will work with the yamaha?

the suzuki plug looks as if it might fit but I have no idea about the pin out for either the motor or the control

Are you sure the pontoon is rated for the 115? From a 60 to 115 is a HUGE leap. None of my business really, but that is a hefty fine for over rated motors, not to mention dangerous.

It is rated for 140hp and extremely underpowered. Underpowered is about the worst thing that a boat can be.

BTW if you want to overpower a boat all you have to do is get different decals on ebay and nobody know a 150 isn't a 90.

I agree, under powered is horrible. I had a small 18ft pontoon with 40hp. It was so slow that kayaks could pass it....lol. Gas milage was horible also. Eventually I put a 65 (max rating). After that I named it the Millenium Falcon. It would actually get up on plane and FLY. Used about half the gas also. Some friends left Dennis Creek one day and I was to follow them to Youngs Island. They were almost out of the creek before I left. They were in a small runabout with I/O. I overtook them and beat them to Youngs Island. That was actually the day it got the new name. I miss that old boat.
