i just got my boat out for the season. The dip stick reads just 1/4 inch above the full line. Is that a big deal? I know the mechanic who changed the oil and he is good. I know every year they put in 5 quarts. Should I pump out a little oil?

Run your engine a while. Filter may have drained down. If filter is upside down like mine, your filter should have a valve inside to prevent it from emptying. Some don't.
