I put one on my Pontoon boat that I have in my pond. (Don't live on the lake). I did not charge the batteries for two years. Just replaced them this year. The outboard motor always cranked, and the trolling motor always worked. 365 days a year. I could troll around the pond, tie the boat to the dock with half dead battery and next time it would be good to go. I don't know if I got lucky or what. Mine worked fine.

Do you use a 1.8 watt or a higher watt? There are several in the catalog but it says the 1.8 is "ideal" for boat motors.

Mine works very well. It even "extends the life" of my trolling motor battery by about 10-15% by placing the solar panel on the deck of the boat while fishing.

OK, some of you sharp guys - that is during daylight hours; it doesn't help much while night fishing.

When fishing at night, you have to turn it upside down. Then it works at night. : )

Thanks Cat. And to think I have been destroying our environment all this time by using "artificially generated power" from CAEC and Ala Pwr. I am working on a deep enough hole to use geothermal energy but my neighbor keeps filling the hole up with adult beverage bottles. Lake life is GREAT!! lol
