I just picked up my boat yesterday from Cathouse Performance Marine. Steve and his crew did an EXCELLENT job checking it out for me (I just bought it). They serviced it, pointed out some preventive maintenance that they could do for me in the near future to avoid me being stranded on a nice lake day! They even made it louder for me , which I may regret when I get my first ticket..haha I am taking it back to them after this weekend to have them "shine" it up. I have been around boats my whole life and I can say this was my first positive experience having any repairs/maintenance done. The work was done very fast, I was informed along the way of the progress, and I wasn't pressured into having unnecessary repairs done (like so many marine shops do). I was also very pleased with the bill, very fair. Finally, I have a place to take my boat that I don't dread going to, I actually look forward to it! It may be a 30 minute drive each way from my house, but it is well worth it! I highly recommend them for all of your boat needs. I am probably one of the smaller jobs they have done all year, but I felt like the most important! I will be a customer of their's for life! Thanks Steve and crew and make sure you have some cold beer for me on Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks guys. We certainly appreciate the vote of confidence. We have tried very hard over the years to create a fun atmosphere while taking a very serious approach to business and service. It is always nice to hear someone say they actually look foreward to coming back, even for a visit. Most of all, we have been able to meet and become friends with many good people, and we look foreward to seeing everyone. Thanks for the kind words.

Steve

CAT - I have heard that supplemental fuel injection will save 20-30% in fuel consumption...is that a good estimate? and do you do that work?

I am not really sure of what you mean "supplemental fuel injection". I'll google it, or try to get some sort of education before I wade off in that question. However, if injecting something other than fuel (as we know it today) into your engine that cost lots of money to save 20% at any risk is kinda crazy. Really like, if you use a hundred bucks of fuel, and take a chance to save 20 bucks, it really isn't a good idea (uneducated guess). But, if it matters, we are seeing more frequent exhaust valve failures now because of ethonal blended with gasoline(so I read anywayand study anyway). Some fuel suppliers are putting 15% ethonal in the gasoline aka. blended fuel. It is causing some problems in marine engines. We have been setting up customer engines a little more conservative on the power side (more for the ones that use 87octane). The EFI units seem to kinda take care of themselves for the most part. I'll look into "supplement fuel injection". Sounds interesting. Sorry for the long post, but tomarrow, I have to see what I can figure out on an engine that did not fare to well. Call the shop 334.358.2838 tomarrow 5.22.08 and I;ll let you know what I found out.
