Place a nice pretty 5 gallon can of gas tainted with about 1/2 water in view, (as the adding sugar is just a myth) but where the thieves would have to come get it on your property and let them steal it.

If they use it they will not go far and when they do use it will ruin their day for sure and serve them right for taking your gas.

Hey Maverick,

Isn't there something we could add that would damage (preferably beyond all cheap repair) whatever they put the gas into? I mean, if you're gonna do it - do it right.

One needs to remember the type of people one may be dealing with when revenge for stealing gas is involved.

If they will steal then the possibility exist that they will do more damage to you if they should figure out what happened to them and why.

Take this into account if you should choose to contaminate any gasoline in an effort to "payback" the thief.

Better idea is to take any safeguards you can to prevent the theft in the first place as best you can.

Hard for me to actually believe I just typed that.

Must be getting mellow in my old age

Well, I liked Steves idea of the paintball gun. Could be good for a laugh at least.

Personally, I prefer the watch out for your neighbor approach. Even though I live "on the side of a mountain", we try to look out for each other. The new neighbor will be a full timer. I'm mostly full time. And the others within sight, we all look out for each other. From garbage cans to gas cans.

Things are going to happen. Low lifes will be low lifes. But by watching out for each other, we get to meet more people and who knows, might have some fun.

Saturday is supposed to be a great day. Who's gonna be out?

Peace,
<><

You can count on me being at the lake, and definately out on the water. I've had to work the last 2 weekends, but this weekend I get to play. I'll still have to mow grass, and do some chores, but somehow it doesn't seem like work when I'm at the lake. Be safe.

You know we could sit here all day and talk about how to get back at the theives and personnally I could come up with some pretty under handed ideas to make them sorry and mad they touched my stuff....... But MidAge is right.....

The POS life that these people lead will do nothing but come back and retaliate against you just because they have nothing else to do and also because they can.......... Quick Story along the retaliation thing,,,,,,

Early in my life on the lake me and my youngest were coiming into our slough on the seadoo and a small basss boat with about 4-5 "kids" were coming out of the slough..... I said hello and kept going but as I got near my house there were mt dewe bottles floating around in the water,,,,, I knew it wasnt mine so I spun around and pulled up next to the guys and politly asked if they were drinking mt dew and one of them had same bottle in hand..... I said I would appreciate it if they would come back and get their trash and then stay out of the slough........(I sounded like any dad back in my teenage day) anyway I came back to my pier and looked to see if they were picking up like I asked and they had sped off..... Ticked me off so bad I took off after....Caught up to them ideling into another slough..... Said listen guys if your gonna be like this stay the heck away and dont let me catch you back in my slough or we are going to have a problem...... being pi$$ed like I was I spun the seadoo around and washed a huge wave over the back of the bass boat and returned home...... That night they came back and emptied a whole garbage can full of empty battles and cans onto my pier....... My neighbor said he heard them and yelled at them and they left.....

Personally I remember my days as a teenager and in the same situation I would have done the same or worse..... the Back At Cha was kind of funny because it was done once and no real damage was done.....

Anyway I have always been concerned any night I leave my toys in the water...... I do suggest making friends with your neighbors for an extra set of eyes..... I park my boat so the gas cap is against the pier......

Back years ago someone put out a cheap device aimed toward women protecting their purses. They would attach one end to the purse and one ind to themselves and if a theif snatched the purse the contacts would seperate and a loud shreil alarm would sound until you attached the contacs together again. If anyone has seen these lately I would like to know because if you could attach to a gas can, a seadoo or anything just to make a noise to deter the situation the better off you will be......

Just my rambling $.02

Be out saturday night and sunday.....

AIght I've been quiet long enough. I loved the paintball idea earlier in this thread. While living in Grayson valley about 6 years ago My tool box on my truck was broken into. Having three teenage boys in the house there was absolutly no shortage of paintballs and Co2, If i had heard them in the middle of the night raiding my tool box I would have chased them and painted them various colors all the way to wherever they took cover. Now I'm gonna start over and tell everyone hello, in a new thread. D
