Didn't want to hijack Steve's thread below.

I know somewhere on this forum there is a gas price list of the marinas, I just can't find it. But what about places around the lake for those of us that BYOG?

The Chevron at the intersection of Alabama 34 and 77 in Talladega is $3.77 today. It's a little out of the way for some but if you're anywhere near the bridge, it's about 8 miles. I filled all my cans so if the gas thieves are reading this, come and get it. I'll be waiting for you ;-)

Many years ago, for any of you that remember the Foxfire books. I read in there the directions for building a whiskey still. I was in my teens but thought it would be cool. Well, I did. Built it in Moms kitchen. She was ticked but Dad was proud and pronounced it fit to drink. Before the dismantling, a friend and I decided to see if we could run our dirt bikes on the stuff. We did. I asked my wife last night if she remembered where those books are. I told her I was going to build a new still and make my own ethanol. She never looked up from her book, just simply asked if I had priced copper lately.

I hate it when she's right!

Anybody be out this weekend?

Peace,
<><

Oh yeah - I'll be out this weekend. I finally closed on my FTB loan (fuel the boat) so we can enjoy another day on the water. My boats are stored in a marina, so I don't have the luxury of buying "off water" gas. I'm stuck paying $4.50 per gallon with a 26 gallon tank on the ski boat. I'll be in a 19' blue & white Glastron with my wife & 2 kids - if anyone sees us, flag me down to say hello. We'll be in the Clear Creek / Rabbit Branch area most of the time. Probably be at Pier 59 around noon. Be safe.

There is one other boat EXACTLY like mine... if the guy was driving safley and was nice to you, it was me. If he wasn't, it was him. All kidding aside, it was probably me - we were all over the place last weekend. Hope to see you this weekend. Be safe.

On Lay at Paradise Point I got it at $3.99 (a blessing). I noticed in Inverness that they now have E85 at $3.55. Isn't ethanol about 30% cheaper on average than gasoline? I don't understand how anyone making minimum can drive. Anyway, judging by Memorial Day gas prices didn't hurt too much, but lets see how it looks over the course of the summer.
