Kevin, you said you were looking for a wake boat. Have you looked at the mid 80's models of Ski Nautiques? These have become very coveted wake boats because of the wake, stability, and price point. I'm putting an '81 back together now. Some of these are selling for as much as they did new or more in some cases with the additional wake equipment being put on them.

Still much more affordable than the crazy prices of a new one these days.

I've noticed that. I've been picking up a boat trader for a few weeks and searching online within a 500 mile radius. Some of those old Ski Natiques are still $10000+. In reality that's all I need, although a new Supra or Malibu would be nice, the payment wouldn't be. Thanks a bunch for the info guys.
I noticed on the way to work that E85 is now $3.70. I paid $3.82 for reg. in Childersburg. Sounds like the ethanol guys are trying to make a big payday. I got an interesting e-mail yesterday. It basically stated that if we'd quit buying from Exxon (the worlds biggest oil company) all together, the price would have to go down. It seems like a good plan, the " no one fill up tomorrow" plan will never work. Also if we cut 5 miles a day off of our driving then the prices would start to fall as well.

Hey Big, If you are interested in a older Ski Natique, check out www.cathouseperformancemarine.com, Steve has a beautiful 82' for sale in the "Hot boats for sale" section, I've seen that boat and it is in great condition, good price too, peace

If the stringers are in good shape and engine good, that's a pretty decent price. That is the series all of the wakeboarders are going after, the 2001 models which I have an '81 like this. For the money, these really are the ticket in my opinion.

Check out http://www.correctcraftfan.com/ and you can learn a ton about these and why they are truly coveted. If you look at the For Sale ones on there, a Barefoot model in Huntsville is a good deal, have heard from some that it's in really good shape.

Yeah, I've seen that one in Huntsville on boattrader. It looks like a nice boat for a decent price. Wonder if he's sold it yet.

Probably not since it is still listed as for sale on the CorrectCraftFan site.

If you are patient, you can find some good deals. I picked my '81 up over in the Atlanta area for $4k, it needs about $2000 worth of work and I could probably sell it for $7k-$8k afterward.

Depends on what I find. If I find that the 2000 and newer Malibu's or Supra's are going in the $20k range at auction then I'll probably just buy one of them. My wife seems to like that idea. Otherwise I'll keep looking. If I don't find anything at auction then I may wait till winter and try to get a better deal. I have a boat now, it just won't do what I want it to.

There is a '79 on eBay right now that is here in B'ham. It looks immaculate! There is also an '84 listed in the B'ham classifieds for $6800.

The one on eBay looks amazing actually, don't know what the reserve is though.

Are you going to bid on the 79 Nautique on Ebay?

If not, I might.

But do not want to bid if you are interested and drive up the price on you or visa versa.
