I posted earlier this summer looking for dock builder recommendations. We just completed our new dock and boat house and wanted to pass on glowing feedback on Custom Docks. They did a fanstastic job for us, and we are so pleased with it! Would definitely recommend them to others.

Glad to hear everyone made it through the storm ok!

If you found a contractor that made you happy its certainly is worth posting. I have been looking at several new piers docks and their adding value to the lake for sure. There are a couple of boathouses that have underwater up lighting out n front of them, that is the coolest thing to see at night., lil schools of baitfish circling around not to mention just the right amount of light to show off your new boathouse even at night. I don't have a boathouse but am thinking of getting a couple to go out by the pier, just for my own entertainment. If you know what I'm talking about and can post a link, that would be cool. I've checked overtons and didn't find anything just have to keep on digging at it. If you get out at night, cruise the left side going down river just before school bus island, and you can see these lights I'm talking about, there are two boathouses that have them installed.

We have 2 light under our pier at Martin and love them. They are Green Monster Fishing lights manufactured in Dadeville, AL.

The only issue I have with them is when the 175w mercury vapor bulb burns out you have to replace the entire unit back to the box, cost about $150 or so per light assembly.

Since then I have found a company (see URL below) that has a patent pending replaceable light assembly so when my Green Monsters burn out I ham replacing he fixture with this company's assembly.

Here is what their website state - This protective bulb cover will minimize your concerns of swimmers, wayward casts and floating debris that could break your bulb! A high strength durable acrylic cover protects your investment! Because of this unique design, this lamp assembly produces more light than a bulb without this design. Every unit is pressure tested to withstand a depth of 75' before you receive it.

If you purchased a competitor's system you were informed the bulb would need to be replaced by their technicians, by sending the unit back for repair, or buying the bulb, bulb assembly and cord. Some bulb replacements exceed $250 for each light, every repair. Our PATENT PENDING dock systems offer the only user replaceable bulb on the market. Finally, no more expensive replacements or lengthy down times. The 175 watt mercury vapor bulb can be purchased at your local department store for around $15. Replacement only takes minutes. Unscrew the bad, re-screw with new. If you have a competitor's product in need of a bulb change, replace it with our light kit and save time, money and minimize your worries! See kit below.

Head towards the dam and once it is in sight you should be able to see the island down the left side.

Look for a octagon shape wood house on the leftl with a metal pier. All of this is just past Waters Edge, if you know where that is.

Its not real big, maybe 100' by 30'
