U r right. Theres a pic on the local paper website. www.dailyhome.com but it's not a very good pic. I just came from that way.

I just took 8 pix around me but I must admit, they really aren't that impressive. But a question for Bruce maybe, is there a gallery where we can post our flood of '09 pix and how do we do it?

Peace and stay dry,
<><

There's already a January 2009 Flood picture folder. In forum toolbar click on link to photos then click on link to the left that says share your photos.

I'm heading that way myself. Going to Rivers Edge and and also to the house near Stemley. May get the boat out and ski if there's not too much trash in the water.

Got it. Thanks.

You're probably gonna find too much trash in the water and it's pretty choppy and windy. But if you do it, I gotta get a picture of it.

Peace,

Yeah - the wind is a bigger factor than the amount of trash in the water..

If you do decide to Ski remember, I think you are responsible for damage caused by your wake, may be worth checking into. some sreenhouses and lil buildings could get pushed off blocks, additionally piers could be affected by the wake. Thought provoking at least, lets hear the feedback from that.... David

I got 2 pretty good pics of the Marina Bay pier wedged up under the bridge. I think I've posted 10 or so pictures that Bruce will get around to when he can I guess. Yall keep them coming. I gotta leave town tomorrow so I won;t be around for the crest.

Peace,

I took a ton of pictures from Rivers Edge/Rabbit Branch/Clear Creek all the way back to Camp Cosby. Took some at our house, too before it got too dark. Not a tremendous amount of trash in the water like I expected at least at the dam end of the lake. Up near Stemley I saw more big pieces of stuff. I guess they'll be making their way to the dam. I did see a picnic bench but no refrigerators or propane tanks like the last time it flooded.

Too windy/choppy to ski. Couldn't find calm water anywhere. I did think about the boat wake and the effect it might have on stuff on shore (well - not on shore NOW - but you know what I mean). But honestly, yesterdays winds were making more waves than my boat does. It's not a wakeboard boat. It's a slalom boat. Little bitty wake. But I am conscious of it.

I’ll post some pics when I get a chance. I might actually watch some Florida football first.

RBS, Glad you didn't take that the wrong way, or anyone else for that matter, I have seen people that didn't realize that thier wake was feakin people out along the shoreline at floodstage. These older boathouses that are totaly enclosed, and cannot (without all the new permit requirements) be repaired, are especially vulnerable to wakes crashing against there walls. The two story boathouse with the apt on top is very cool over in clear creek, would hate to see it or any other old enclosed boathouses messed up.

If I provoked some thought here, it was my intention.

Now lets get the water down, the temp up, and do it again this year..........
