i have a pontoon boat with a 50 merc. oil injected. the alarm won't stop. plenty of oil, water spraying out lower drive so cool...i changed the switch this summer and it still does it. if i turn the switch a little back it cuts off along witht he power to the gauges.

any easy fix?

try unplugging the wires out of the oil tank. it sounds like the warning module or the tank sensor is bad.if the alarm keeps sounding, it is in the warning horn its self.

mix some oil in the gas and then see if it is using the oil in the oil tank. If it is you are good to go. If it is not then keep mixing the oil with the gas

First off, need to know if its a solid tone or a beep...beep...beep warning horn?? Solid tone is engine overheat. Beep...beep...beep is oil warning. If its oil warning then do as above and disconnect one of the two bullit connectors from the oil tank to see if the horn stops. If it stops then you can either start premixing your fuel with oil or have the warning system repaired. If its overheat and you know the engine is not hot then you have a sensor grounded most likely and need to have the warning system repaired. I can go further into troubleshooting but i dont have your serial number or model number.

See if its the sensor alarm by disconnecting the sensor. I WOULD NOT premix and inject...You will foul your spark plugs by doubling your oil mix. Its probably the sensor, not the injector because the sensor is in the oil tank. Bad thing about this system is if the injector fails, your only back up is the overheat. If that goes off you may have done damage to the engine. Most people have scraped the injector system and just premix to ensure there is oil in the gas.
