I use a bullet-shaped trap, and get results very seldom, using crumbled bread or crushed crackers. The bread turns to muck and the crackers are gone too quickly.
Any suggestions appreciated.. Crappie are not waiting for me!!

Oatmeal...Try wetting it with lake water and rolling it up into balls. You will be surprised how long it will last. Makes good Carp Bait too..lol

Thanks for the tips, guys. I think I'll try both. No problem with the dry dogfood. But the balled up oatmeal, is that raw or cooked oatmeal? Before you answer, you have not seen my wife's cooked oatmeal??

I just get the raw oatmeal and mix it with lake water in a empty butter dish. Then the stuff you don't use you can store in the fridge with the top on the dish for a couple days.
