Special Operations Message
Effective - 3/24/2009

Heavy rainfall is forecast across the state over the next several days, with much of that rainfall predicted to impact areas along Alabama Power Company lakes; as a result, flood control operations are possible. Individuals with water-related equipment and facilities should be alert to changing conditions and be prepared to take the necessary steps to protect their property.

With a predicted 4 days of rain, very hevey at times, I would not be surprised if it does flood. And I just got through cleaning up from the last one. But an ounce of prevention goes a long way in how much damage is done in case the lake does come up rapidly. My neighbor lost his pontoon the last go around because he didn't believe it would flood.

Your right .... I took my pontoon out and moved it to higher ground yesterday just to be on the safe side.

Ours is tied stern and forward so as to rise and fall with the water. Its gone through several of these tied the same way but I usually can manage to get to the lake and see about it.Doesnt look lke Im gonna be able to this time, taking care of parents.

Is what it is. Priorities are at home this time.

Send out an alert if the water gets to full pool. I'll have to run over and move boats. In January I had to do it at night in cold, cold water. Rather not have to repeat that experience.
