My brother in law has a Glastron boat that is VERY difficult to fill with gas. There is apparently a bit of a design flaw with the vent line and it is difficult to get the gas tank to "burp" when filling the tank. Consequently, someone has to rock the boat when filling the tank, and sometimes even that doesn't work well. Does anyone have a solution short of installing a second vent? (this was suggested by a boat mechanic)

Thanks for your help.

I too have a Glastron. I had the same problem for a few years. Then it started running out of gas every now and then. With a full tank. I took it to Clearwater Marine. They found bad valves in the tank. If the vent valve does not work it can create a vaccum in the tank and draw the fuel out of the pump through the check valve.

May want to try blowing the vent line out (insert joke here) - I have had to do this a couple of times on our boat.
