Some time ago a person advised using hotdogs for catfish bait.
I need to know how to hook the hotdog and how to keep getting
turtles on. I lose bait often and catch turtles much more than
catfish. Thanks

I cut up the cheep weinies (usually Lykes) and let them dry out in the sun. This makes them more tough. Hook them through the skin and they will rehydrate when in the water putting off a scent. I use them to jug fish, not messy, inexpensive, and it'll keep for future fishing trips. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. Do you have any problem with turtles? I seem to catch a lot of them.

No, not where I fish. (Not so far, knock on wood) You probably fish near river and creek runs where turtles are abundant. I fish on lake flats.

I also in the past have soaked the cut weinies in garlic to give it more scent, works well. Remember there are folks that would love to have those turtles to make turtle soup.
