Anybody got gas prices at marinas. I haul most of mine in but would gladly support a marina if the price is fair.

Stemly Chevron was 2.51 for regular, no Ethanol this weekend.

Peace,

Three weeks ago I told the guy at Clear Creek that I would not be back to get gas unless I had to have it during the day. It was $$2.86 for reg and he did not have Super..... At that time I could go the the station down the street before I launched and put super in for $2.62.....

Where else from Lakeside down to the dam can you get gas?

You could go accross to Surfside or Coosa Island but I don't know prices. That's kinda what I was hoping to find out.

Poor House Branch was 2.75 3 weeks ago which is fair in my opinion. But I would like to know what it is now and closer to the weekend.

Dang, you guys have it good. There's only one place to get gas within' 10 NM of me (Lay Lake). I filled up there last week and it was $3.19. I went back twice this week in the evenings and he was out both times. My boat holds 30 gallons so I really don't want to have to pour it in. I've had to take it out of the water and run it to the store(10 miles) to fill up.

Poor House Branch. $3.25 at the pier. $2.59 on the street. Unbelievable!

I stopped there 2 weekends ago while out riding with my neighbor. $2.75 on the water. I was impressed so thats why I went back yesterday. Not again!

Peace,

I haven't bought gas on the water in years. You know the adage, screw me once... Gas on the water sits in the tanks for a long time, doesn't sell as fast as the pumps on the road. With ethanol, it's even worse to sit in the tanks as it absorbs water vapors. Also, the marina's have to sell it for more because of the higher insurance cost in case of leaks into the lake. I just bite the bullet and take a couple of cans in town each time I go and try to keep all the machines full. This also keeps down water content in the tanks. Full = no condensation in the tanks.

I try to avoid the lake also....the Seadoos are about the only thing that might end up getting filled on the water..... I can usually make a who;e weekend by filling up the boat before I launch.

Does anyone know what Lakeside Landings gas price is?

Well, that was kinda my point Dave. But the bigger issue is the price gouging.

Lakeside was $2.49 on the road when I came by last night. I don't know what the water side is. If the marinas were smart, you would think they would be here on the forum and would be trying to sell us something instead of raising prices just because they have more traffic on a holiday weekend.

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend.

I am not sure how Lakeside Landsing works now but 3 Augusts ago when we first moved to the lake I kept my boat at Lakeside for about 3 months and would end up fueling there before I launched. At that time Fuel on the street and fuel on the water was the same.

Not sure about today tho.

I agree that it would seem the businesses around the lake would want to be on here advertising and talking to us about using there stores/marinas for whatever we need.
