Might be the age of the outdrive mechanism, but not sure. Looking for advice from experienced boaters.
Fluids all seem to be operating properly.
The problem seems to occur when the outdrive is left in the "up" position for only a short period of time, mainly when docked. It, the outdrive, then lowers into the "down" position, without me pushing the button. Any advice would be appreciated. It really affects my total boating experience.

MACK, we need to rebuild those trim cylinders..... Or maybe the pump. Easy fix.

maybe not so easy. Considering the age, parts are kinda' hard to find for my model.
It's a 1947 SportCruiser, a 700 model I think, chopped and blocked, hi-intake port, custom exhaust. Never bored. Gets good power in short bursts, still.

Mack, I think the rebuild parts are still available; some models use a manual pump however. Another option is the use of additives – it is very popular these days, although they say that your outdrive may get stuck in the up position if you use too much.

It's only a problem if it stays up for more than 4 hours.

Mack, if you cant find the parts to rebuild those trim cylinders. take em off and take em to a hydraulic repair shop that rebuilds pumps and cylinders. If they dont have what you need I'm sure they can get it.

So when we build "Cat's Crossroads" on west side of LM we will need a pharmacy to help with trim repair. Gotta touch all the bases.
