I found my friends boat sitting in my boathouse under water.
I pulled it out and drained the oil, pulled the plugs and got the water out. Problem was I had to cross the starter out to get it to turn over. the only electrical that works is the power trim... Lights, blower, builge, and ignition are all dead. Thought some of you experienced mechanics might point me in the right direction and make it easy for me.. Thanks for any advice.

Does the boat have a battery switch? If so, all electrical EXCEPT the power trim and bilge pumps operates from the batt switch. Check it first. If you will make prompt repairs, the boat will be ok provided you get all the water out of any oiling system, ex. power steering fluid, trim fluid, engine oil, etc. Dont forget the fuel tank also. Let me know if you need some help.

had a few minutes to run the wires . There is the cable from battery going to the starter solinoid...just under it there is a red wire comming from the starter, and runs to the dash panel....seems it should be hot, but is not. If I run a wire from the battery to that wire, everything works. I dont understand why the cable wouldnt come straight from the battery to the dash gauges and switches.

Duh..I guess it might help to tell you its a 1998 stingray with a 3.0 mercruiser
