I have a problem with my boat - it has one of those engine things that sits under this cover thing - you know. And there's this oil filter looking thing on the front of that motor thing that has a lot of rust on it. I am trying to get to it, but it is dark in here, you know - that cover thing on it and all. Anyway, that rusty oil can thing had some water like stuff on it but it was not water, it may be gas. Well the candle that I was using for light touched that watery not water stuff and now the front of that motor thing has a fire on it - should I try to take that oil filter thing off to make the fire go out?

How much chit can a chit-cat chat if a chit-cat could chit chat?

use the fire extinguisher which the manufacturer carefully mounted in the engine compartment, right next to the likely source of a fire, or next choice, up under the steering console in a clamp that refuses to release while your butt is exposed to the flames.

That is called planning Mack - they have a Naval Architect tell them where to position it (no relation to our own Architect I am sure). The advantage to the engine compartment location is that eventually the nozzle of the extinguisher will cookoff, maybe putting out the fire – kind of like one of those built-ins. The bracket under the wheel was done to prevent any litigation from those who might be injured by a falling extinguisher. :-)
