Have found those you must add water to are very short lived. Wonder what batteries have a longer life? Would appreciate you input and source where I can get better batteries. Brand names and price if known would be helpful.

AGM (Absorb Glass Matt) is the best. Should last you two years if you disconnect the positive post when stored for the winter and maybe a little boost/charge when the season begins. Call Matt at Blue Creek Marina for pricing.

Like anything else you have to take care of it. You could buy a small charger that mounts inside the jet ski and just plug it in when not in used. A standard battery can last five years, even 10 years if properly cared for. It you are relying on the jet ski use to keep it charged you might as well through money in the water.

My experience is that cheap wet cell batteries like you but a WALMART last about a year,if you buy wet cells from Yuasa or Interstate ,maintain them,dissconnet them and charge them over the winter they can last up to three years.The Deka gel cells and Odyessy dry cells last about three years also.Different batteries have different charging needs,wet cell batteries like to be charged at a low amperage for a long time,dry cell and gell cell batteries do not respond well to this type of charge,they need to be charged at a high amperage rate for a short length of time.A wet cell battery will usually charge back up if run completely dead,gel cell and dry cell batteries do not like to be run completely dead and may very well not charge back up if left in a discharged state for extended periods of time.Seadoos are notorious for running the batteries down if left plugged up for extended lengths of time,I have also seen this on some Yamaha models as well.
