Right NOW is the time to look for a boat. Not next spring. Even in non draught years, fall/winter is when to buy one. I also wouldn't buy a brand new one but that's just me. I have a Malibu (1996) that has been great to own. No mechanical problems. Really comfortable ride. Very low wake (I'm a slalom skier). I LOVE my boat. Best money I've ever spent. I ski all year - haven't missed a weekend since Labor Day. So I get a lot of use out of it.
