We had an issue with a young fella next door. His parents owned a home at the top of the hill, ours was much closer to the water, and we shared a drive/boat ramp combo. He and his buds would come up on weekends while rents were at the gulf, move the vehicle with the thumping subwoofer down to the waters edge and proceed to rattle the house for hours on end. One Saturday morning, I caught sight of a few cars up top, and knew none of them belonged to the parents. I started moving my equipment outside. My wife asked if I had lost my mind. I said no, taking a step to save it. Neighbors were clued in. Sure enough, 2-3 hours later, the kid and his posse start gathering at waters edge. Then, the ride with the thumper rolls down the hill. Before they could set up, I lit up the old Marantz with all 4 speakers outdoors, and played Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Jerry Vale, Mario Lanza and some of the 3 Tenors, long enough and loud enough that, amazingly, we NEVER had an issue again. As a matter of fact, that punk never came back and stayed, while we were there, unless his parents were there.
