but that has not stopped me from commenting in the past.

Talked to a civil engineer some years ago and he said Alabama Power must regulate the size of the lake pool. Any dirt removed below 490 increases the water pool and puts additional pressure on the dam. The dam was built to certain specifications and if lots of folks took dirt out, eventually it could threaten the dam.

Sounded good to me. Might even be true.
