This is from Julia Child, and it is the best rub I have ever found.
2TBSP each: ground bay leaves, cloves, mace, nutmeg, paprika, thyme. 1TBSP each: dried basil, cinnamon, and savory 5 TBSP of ground pepper.
Just mix it all together and store it in a jar.
