They must bite at night. A friend has had 2 run-ins with what he thinks were stripers at night. He was Crappie fishing, free-lining a minnow on lite tackle, felt the tug, set the hook and had his reel stripped to the hub and the rod bent into a nice even "U" shape.
He loved it!
