SLISASUCKS

It's amazing as to how you continue to skirt around very straight forward issues. I believe that we are trying to complicate something that is simple. I remember the comments by James Carville when Bill Clinton ran the first time against Bush Sr - "It's the Economy". I believe that the phrase to day would be - "It's water level."

Rather than me not answering questions, I would suggest that the reverse is true. I have yet to read an answer to any of the questions that I asked for you to respond to. Now come on and start being honest with me and others on this forum as to what you are trying to accomplish with your comments.

And by the way, I went to the SLISA web site (SLISA.org) and copied information for you to read. Since you stated that you would not pay $20 for this information, I simply went to their web site, for free, and got the information that you were talking about. None of these individual were opposed to posting their name as an office of SLISA or a member of the SLISA Board.

Information below is from the SLISA web site (open for everyone with access to a computer).

SLISA has over 3,000 stakeholders that have signed up because they care about the quality of Smith Lake and they care about their own quality of life in the Smith Lake community.

Who, exactly, are ¡§stakeholders,¡¨ you might ask?

Examples of Stakeholders may include: Fishermen, Property Owners, Marina Owners, Naturalists and Conservationists, Boat Owners, Boat Dock Builders, Realtors, Condominium Owners, Developers, Campers, Civitans, and even Alabama Power Company.

In order to accomplish our mission, SLISA is tasked to do the following:

1. To forge partnerships among stakeholders, homeowners, and professionals who care about Smith Lake;

2. To share vital information among SLISA members regarding policies that are important to the existence, protection and preservation of Smith Lake;

3. To increase public awareness among citizens in the state who live outside the Smith Lake community;

4. To monitor, support, endorse or oppose any proposals, legislation, regulations, and/or legal proceedings which could have a significant impact (positive or negative) upon the conditions of Smith Lake and the citizens and communities thus affected by those actions;

5. To mobilize members of SLISA and the surrounding Smith Lake community when serious ¡§calls to action¡¨ are warranted in dealing with local, state and federal officials and/or entities of the private sector;

Our purpose is meaningful and our existence is crucial.

Our resolve to challenge such a politically-connected and powerful company like Alabama Power which earned over five billion dollars in revenues in 2006 must be strong.

Your annual membership and active participation in SLISA is absolutely necessary to show that homeowners and stakeholders have a right to be heard. We must voice our opinions and offer suggestions to those who are entrusted with the proper management of our beautiful Smith Lake.
