Is there really any accurate, expeditious way to identify an individual in this country? I thought that was the purpose of a social security number (at least for governmental purposes.) It seems that there is an infrastructure (or at least a plan/concept) in place for this critical first step, but the government can't pull off the execution (how ironic is that word?)
If needed, you can get a new SSN very quickly - at least that is what my Mexican friends tell me, and it will work at least as long as takes for any one to question it, not that many people do.........
