The Russians are not Communists, they are socialists.
I was just talking to a friend today about the importance of being exposed to alternate ideas while you are in school. So what if your kids are exposed to liberal ideas - are you afraid they will think for themselves? I remember somewhere along the line having a class on religions of the world - yet, I was never tempted to abandon my Catholic upbringing for say, Taoism or Islam.
If you want your kids to grow up to be independently thinking adults, capable of orignial thought, why fear them being exposed to the liberal persepective? Why not let them understand what Communism and Socialism are about? If you are worried about them being "indoctrinated" in college, why aren't you equally worried about them being "Indoctrinated" to a very conservative perspective?
I honestly do not understand why people are so afraid of ideas.
