email is working both send & receive; but when i go to email a scanned or saved document, it says" either outlook is not set as the default or your rerequest cannot be fulfilled."

I have checked setting in both Outlook & Laptop & outlook is set as default; i have shut down & rebooted , all to no avail; all was working yesterday ! help -my business depends on my ability to scan & send documents
