U-3 is not the right number to use because it does not take into account the labor participation rate. Of course 7.1% (the actual number for Sept) still beats the heck out of what it was during the Obama presidency where the lowest value was over 10%. This is also the lowest U-6 number since 2001 and the labor participation rate is basically the same as the average since 1950. And more importantly average wages are finally rising with the latest at 4.11% versus the long term historical average of 2.42%. So U-3 and U-6 are lower a mere two years into Trump's presidency than the entire 8 years of the prior administration, wages are rising after being stagnant for more than a decade, we are headed toward GDP growth in excess of 3% (and maybe 4%) for the first time in a decade, black and Hispanic unemployment are at record lows.......and Democrats are asking you to vote for them.
As for me, I cannot wait to vote tomorrow. I would have early voted in my Republican district but the lines were too long.
