I appreciate your comments and agree generally with your analysis on ''then and now''.  The reason I so oppose Trump and the basist of his base, is because in my view they display ample evidence that they have no reluctance whatsoever in stopping and even reversing the progress both of us celebrate.  Obviously you disagree with my belief and that freedom to disagree is one of the best parts of the American Dream still available to both of us.  My sincere fear is that many on your side (including some on this forum) and on my side of the political divide would without regret end that freedom given half the chance.
