Weather and climate are not the same. Weather does not define climate until it is averaged over a long period. That being said, l think you would have to confess that Sept 2019 is a bit warmer than what we expect even in the southeast.
BTW: According to the International Climate Agency we are in a “neutral” period for El Niño (translation-no El Niño effect at present) with a 75% chance of remaining neutral for the remainder of the year.
