Goofy, this is nothing new and I already addressed it in an earlier thread.  There have always been visa programs for guest workers in agriculture and elsewhere (H-1B and H-2B).  Niether are legally eligible for Medicaid or other federal benefits.  They come here legally to work, they have to be paid at least minimum wage, unless the prevailing wage is higher in which case they are supposed to be paid market wages.  That's why unscrupulous employers love them some illegals....so they don't have to pay a fair wage.

As for whether they are being screwed, that's pretty much up to them to decide.  Apparently the wages they are paid in the U.S. are high enough for them to come here in droves so it must be better than what they can make in their home country.  Heck, the illegals getting paid below market wages come here by the millions.....although many of them are here to take advantage of state and federal benefits that they should not be getting because states like CA let them take advantage of the American taxpayer......no more.
