Feb: I didn't reply to your question because I don't know the answer to why she moved schools. I just stated that it wasn't important to me. It may well be an important issue to you and if there are enough others that want an answer I am sure someone in the media or the Obama campaign will find out. Everyone has to weigh all the information and make an informed decision about who they will vote for in November. For me, I am so ideologically, culturally, politically and economically at odds with Obama's liberal viewpoints that I could never vote for him. I am also at odds with McCain on a number of issues but view him as significantly the lesser of two evils.

As for the payouts to Alaskans, I am almost certain that has happened many times in the past under other Governors. Alaska is blessed with an abundance of oil and taxes on oil companies generate revenues that allow them to operate their state government without some of the taxes that other states levy. It just is that way. As for Governor Palin's popularity in Alaska, I wouldn't just attribute it to the payouts to Alaska citizens because that has happened before. I don't know what the answer is but it is clearly bipartisan which is unusual in the current political environment.

Good luck with your discernment and frankly I would rather you vote, even if for a choice different than mine, than sit on the sidelines complaining like so many others.
