At last!!! This is what I scream at my TV each time I surf over to CNN or MSNBC and they are ‘dissing’ the administration for this meltdown. Mr. Card was nicer than I am though because the congress did not “authorize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to approve risky loans” they actually REQUIRED them to approve a percentage of loans in this category. Do you remember O’Bama’s suit to require these loans when he was a lawyer with ACORN? I also do not have facts to support his statement that these loans “especially would help members of minority groups” but that is not important to me. The loans to any potential homeowners that would probably not be repaid should be, and I think probably is, illegal and the individuals making the loans, directing the loans, or approving these loans should be prosecuted along with any purchaser that provided false information on the mortgage application. It is too bad that members of Congress will not be included in these prosecutions but will be re-elected because they “bring home the pork” to their districts and states. How stupid are we, the American people, to continue permitting this?? OK, off my soapbox.
