The USCCB has historically inserted its opinion into political issues but I would not consider them speaking on behalf of the authority of the church. We already have laws on the books that defend a citizens right to vote, but don't need 1960's formulas that define the Department of Justice's involvement in select southern tier states voting guidelines. Heck, you can say you are me in New York state and vote without showing any sort of ID. What is it about the ID that works up liberals like yourself when it comes to voting?
