It looks to me like a tidal shift with politicians from both sides updating their calculations on who they need to be speaking to and hoping for votes from. They may finally have figured out how many of their friends, staffers, and family members are gay and still deserving of a basic right to live their lives.... I would expect more shifts on immigration issues, maybe even drug policy matters soon.

But Gays have been in both parties as prominent members, and its becoming clear that some Gays are (and have been) firmly fiscal conservative Republicans. There seem to be a couple of statements each week coming from politicians announcing they have changed their minds, shifting to a new message they hope will play better for them. I remain surprised that this is such an issue for so many folks. Trying to stop Gay people from being who they are is a waste of time, and insulting them to them, too.
