The German auto industry, as almost all German industries, is heavily unionized. That is the way the Bundes Republik government set it up and the way they like it. In Germany the Federal Covernment, State governments, Corporate boards and Trade Unions work as partners, not adversaries. We could learn a few things from the "Krauts"...(no "political correctness" here)!
