We have a Yamaha sport boat that we keep at Smith Lake. We have enjoyed the boat for several years now. Prior to buying the jet boat we had a large sail boat on another lake for over 10 years so we were not very familiar with power boats. After spending a lot of time studying both stern drive and jet boats available in our price range the jet boat seemed the best fit for us. We have been very happy with the decision. There are pros and cons for both types. The best place to get good information about the Yamaha jet boats, and maybe jet boats in general, is at the Yamaha Jet Boat forum: http://www.yamahajetboaters.com/ The site has a lot of informative posts, although possibly a bit biased toward the jets. :-)
