Unless another one-year variance is sought for a 483' pool level for next winter, APCo has stated that they will follow the longstanding flood control guide curve specifying 480'.

Their was an effort by APCo to seek a multi-year interim 'variance' for 483' to facilitate relicensing studies that are being planned for the next four years leading up to the issuance of a new FERC license for Martin. However, FERC recently denied APCo's desire to do so.

So, if the dwindling drought situation re-emerges as a major risk later this summer, that may provide the necessary impetus for another one-year variance request by APCo. Right now, it look like the odds are heading south. We'll see six months from now if new rumors have legs or not.
