I gave him a pass on the early debates. He was on his feet for extended periods of time 5 weeks after the surgery, and, fully immersed in the then out of control fires at home, note without federal assistance. It seems like over the last 25-30, or is it 50 or so debates, he has managed to step up. There is no doubt that the great orators can make him look substandard in these debate formats, BUT, his record, public and private, is unmatched by any of his competition for the nomination. For accountable leadeship perspective, combine the populations of Utah, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Georgia, and Pennsylvania east of Pittsburgh, to match the population of Texas.
