It's not that hard, JIM, though I can see why you'd be confused, what with your sub-normal IQ and all. But I'll explain it, and I'll use small words that even you might be able to understand:
Auburn's nickname is the Tiger; they are the "Tigers" and have never been anything else.
"War Eagle" is a battle cry; it is just like Alabama's "Roll Tide." But battle cries and nicknames are not one and the same.
The school newspaper is called the Auburn Plainsman.
As far as Auburn is concerned, Tiger is the only correct word to use when naming the Auburn mascot. Of course, Auburn has no control over the uninformed sportswriters or ignorant half-wits such as yourself who don't have the mental capacity to distinguish the differences between nicknames, battle cries and newspapers.
In short, JIM, though moronic drunks like you enjoy poking fun at Auburn because, in your own slurred words "Auburn can't decide what they're called," the truth is that everyone at Auburn knows the facts; it's only stupid people who can't figure it out.
(It's just for fun that the name of Auburn's eagle is "Tiger;" that probably confuses you even in those rare moments that you're sober, doesn't it?)
