Smith did not get the rains Saturday like Martin did because of its northwest Alabama location. Saturday, Martin was on the verge of just getting 5-6 inches. It rained heavier (7-8 inches) on the lower portion of the Tallapoosa watershed that drains into Yates and Thurlow. Lake Wedowee got a lot less rain (2 inches) Saturday. So basically, the further north the lake is the less rain it got Saturday.

Monday's rain had broader coverage throughout Alabama but it was in a direction of about 20 degrees (NNE). It's in East Tennessee today.
