look to see if there insulation above the wall. If its wet it needs to come out. If it's closed off then I would cut out a small section and see if I had a mold/mildew problem behind the drywall. This could have been leaking for a while before it showed up. If you do I would talk to your buddies at your building supply to see how to seal that off. good luck!!!
