I read your comments and from all accounts, I can see that you can recall the events quite well. Glad that you seem to be doing well. That was quite an event, and we are fortunate that we heard your calling for help and was able to respond and help you. We were fishing on our dock, just down from the accident scene and saw you as you went into the area where you crashed, and heard the actual crash. It was clear , calm and still light (dusk) when the accident happened. The water like a mirror with no wind or traffic in the area. I came to your rescue and stayed by you for over two hours, called the paramedics, kept you calm,and awake and ensured help was on the way and where to find us. I was not sure you were going to make it , as you described breathing was difficult. Unbelievable that you were able to get into the boat after the collision into the cliff side. Especially without a life jacket on . Additionally I towed your boat to my home to keep it from sinking to the bottom, as it actually sank on my ramp. The E-mail that we responded to did not say you were drunk, we did indicate that it seemed obvious ( my opinion) that you had been drinking, evidenced from observations while I was with you, and collaborated from members of the Red Hill Rescue team as well. This does not mean you were drunk, as I am not qualifying myself to make that determination nor have we made that accusation.
My wife and I are not looking for thanks, but are thankful that you survived this terrible accident, and thankful that no one was with you when this happened as they may not have been so fortunate to survive. We are also thankful that another boat was not involved as to add to the casualty possibilities.
No need to respond to thank us now, as we have heard nothing from you in advance of this communication.
